Language and Digital Humanities: From the Covid19 health crisis to the identity crisis

The Covid19 health crisis has caused a linguistic identity crisis one. Indeed, several challengers and dynamic issues have been employed in the process of language learning. However, the Arabic language, which is used by both native and non-native speakers, has not fully taken advantage of these challenges. Moocs are an innovative solution that responds to these challenges, thus promoting progress in E-learning and guaranteeing a rewarding affiliation with digital humanities. In this context, we propose the "Arabic Foreign Language MOOC Platform -AFL Mooc" which ensures the learning of Arabic as a foreign language. The training offered is aimed at a very wide audience and constitutes support for the transfer of skills and knowledge in the Mediterranean area via digital practice. The access to this platform does not require any prerequisites and offers subscribers, regardless of their professional and cultural situation, a desire to learn and discover the Arabic language.

“Arabic Foreign Language MOOC Platform –AFL Mooc” has a dual purpose. Firstly, it allow trainnig the maximum number of people concerned with learning Arabic as a foreign language via access to existing numerical linguistic resources through digital and collaborative practices. This enriches linguistic knowledge and enhances the Mediterranean linguistic patrimony. Secondly, AFL Mooc promotes the human development of participants regardless of geographical or socio-cultural constraints, this way can remed the identity crisis caused by the covid19 health crisis.

The "Arabic Foreign Language MOOC Platform AFL Mooc" is a platform that offers several training sessions to build the capacity of tens of thousands of learners in Arabic as a foreign language. At the end of each session, participants who have passed their exams successfully receive a certificate of achievement signed by the training coordinator. This platform offers digital practices that can be adapted to the needs of mass education. Tools that can be used immediately in the classroom or training room can be manipulated and changes in teaching practices based on methods chosen and proved by their efficient approaches are stimulated. The AFL Mooc connects teachers and trainers driven by the desire and the will to set up digital practices capable of contributing to the success of the participants and to raising the level of knowledge and qualifications in initial and continuous training in Arabic as a foreign language. Existing digital resources are available promoting a collaborative spirit of enhancement of the Mediterranean linguistic patrimony.
